Default Help! Low Fps

Im getting anywhere from 5-10 FPS. This happends in any district and while exploring. I have lowered video setting in windows and in game. Tryed different video drivers. Tryed defaging gw.dat and reinstaling the client. I have formated and reinstalled windows Xp. No other programs are running in the background either. Other games such as Half Life 2 and Diablo 2 run really well, so i know my computer runs fine.

Here are my specs:

Pentium 4 3.2Ghz
512Mb Ram
Geforce 256Mb 6600- 93.71 drivers
Foxconn 915G7AC motherboard
Direct x 9.0c (october release)
5Mb Cable connection
Windows XP Home Edition

i run a laptop.
2.2 mobile
2 gigs ddr2 533 dual channel
nvidia 7800 gtx 256 meg video

so far ive defragged, -imaged, reinstalled guildwars, contigged, reinstalled over 7 different video drivers, ran hijackthis, killed every program in background and tried ,virus scanned with 3 different programs, and ultimately reformatted and installed just windows and needed drivers.

NONE OF THIS HAS HELPED.

so i thought connection.
called my isp and had them run a line quality test. it came back perfect.
its not that theres to many people in my neighborhood with same internet.
i have 6 neighbors.
8 meg down, 356 up.

went to dslreports.com, ran several speed tests from all over the world.
all came up at over 8 megs.

Try this, ie. turn off your hardware sound acceleration.

Another thing to do is upgrade your ram. 512 is not much now, I would get at least 1 gig or more into your machine and see if that helps out (ram upgrades are cheap speed increasers).
